Excellent and original take on the Arthurian legend

Imaginative and stylish re-telling of the Arthurian legend, centring on the developing relationship between Prince Arthur and the young Merlin, entering the court as Arthur's servant, but obliged to conceal his knowledge of magic, which has been made a capital crime by Arthur's father, King Uther. An excellent cast, including Anthony Head as Uther, Richard Wilson as Merlin's mentor, and John Hurt as the voice of the Last Dragon. Then-unknowns Colin Morgan and Bradley James pretty much steal the show with the depth of their performances as Merlin and Arthur. Great series

Watched this on Sky recently and I was impatient to watch the next episodes so I had to buy this. I wasn't disappointed.

Loved the fantasy story, the romance and the funny banter between Arthur and Merlin. Wished there were more than 5 seasons. I've already watched all the DVD on this series and am still enjoying the play backs on my favourite episodes.Read full review
