Microsoft Lumia 435

I have stuck with my Nokia ordinary mobile 'phone until the buttons became unreliable and this was recommended as a "starter" smartphone to replace it. So far, I have found it extremely efficient although I haven't explored a tenth of its capabilities yet. The battery charge seems to last for ever (in comparison to my old one) and it is much easier to carry around, being more compact even with the added screen cover and leather case.
Once I installed and initiated the sim card, I found lots of instructions on how to use it on screen - no need for a printed manual or to look things up on my computer. I already have a Microsoft account so, as soon as I entered my details, the 'phone called up my emails and Facebook pages.
Although the screen is smaller than many more "flashy" models, it is superb for my purposes and very easy to use for text messages and emails.Read full review

Great Budget Phone

The battery life, screen and speed aren't the best, but it makes up for it by being a very cheap phone that's small and light. If you just use a phone to call people, send texts and occasionally check twitter or the internet, it's the best you can do without spending hundreds on something that does it slightly better or for slightly longer.Read full review

this phone is robust, pretty compact, has most of the features I want on a phone, and is cheaper than an i Phone. Not being a techi, I sometimes find it hard to use some facilitys on phones, but this one seems straight foreward. And I have enjoyed exploring what it can do.
