Old System Good as New

I was facing the rebuild of an old Dell laptop computer (Vostro 2008), I planned to use infrequently. I read that Windows 10 could breath new life into aging systems, but I wasn't about to spend $119 dollars to find out. This offer seemed the perfect solution for my circumstances. Almost a home run.

I bought two of these at a GREAT price. One copy works well, but the other is having trouble with updates. It will update, then say the update will not install and it turns back to the previous settings. This is a 15 minute process every time I turn it on. Two copies of windows 10 for this price is a great deal. It may be just my computer. I could reinstall but it is a long process.Read full review

Simple and easy

Worked like a dream, I had just done a major hardware upgrade, invalidating my previous license (down to me messing up and not linking to my microsoft account before i did the upgrade). All you do is go to Start Menu Settings, Update & Security, Activation then Change Product Key and simply copy in the key you recive via email and viola. GREAT having both the MAC OS and WINDOWS 10 on one machine!

After years of faithful service my old desktop - running VIsta - became too difficult to use since support for the old OS is gone now. I did try - just as I begun grad school - to continue after many years in the PC Windows world to buy a new PC laptop in 2013. I had a HUGE stack of books on my reading list for school and that laptop - running Windows 8 - was a nightmare. I simply didn't want to take a moment of time to learn how to use things I already knew how to use with Microsoft Office so I took that Win 8 laptop RIGHT back to the store and instead purchased my first new Mac.

I swore off anything new from Windows after that...

My old desktop however good it might have been a few years ago, just became obsolete. I purchased a new Mac Mini, but at work my job gives us a free install of Windows Office for home use. One of the things I like having at my disposal is Microsoft Publisher. I also use a lot of other graphics software but for those of us who use graphics frequently publisher has it's benefits.

SO I purchased Parallels to run Windows on my desktop (and my Mac Laptop too) but needed to have the Windows Operating system to use it.

This product works very very well! Windows 10 installed easily on my Mac with Parallels. Since I'd never tried using 2 different OS on a computer I was concerned about the process but everything worked well together seamlessly.

The bonus for me is that with two monitors, I can have BOTH operating systems open side by side while I work. The price was great and the seller started communication ahead of my asking for any assistance.

All in all one of the best tech software purchases I've made in a long time.

I'm considering buying a second one to upgrade an older Win 7 laptop and my dear old Vista desktop. Both of those also contain perpetual software that I don't want to lose, which is the downside of considering an upgrade on older Windows machines.

Better than going through the hoops

Copied my operating system onto a new drive while I was working on a new PC build, and lost the key to windows along the way. Win10 Pro on SSD is good

I installed this on a new NVME SSD as part of a computer upgrade. It runs reliably and is very smooth. I have not had any problems. It took a little time to familiarize myself with the new look of win10 over my old win7, but it does run faster and is easy enough to install and use. The interface is something i am getting used to though sometimes i have to search a little longer for what i am looking for. I did a 2nd install on an other computer (my own) which also was going to get a SSD. An other smooth installation done. Running smoothly on both computers.Read full review

Well it's Windows 10 Pro

You obviously have to download & 'burn' the several GB .ISO file from Microsoft,
Then the key works and activates apparently exactly as the Microsoft Boxed product.
I updated an old Vista Dell Latitude 2120 (with only 2MB of RAM), and it
performs better than the previous Vista. You can't 'update' from Vista,
and its best to archive first, but all your old files are available although
you have to re-install any apps.
Windows 10 is so far ahead of Vista, (not 7) 8 and 8.1 it barely believable.Read full review

Following each setup instruction hadn't any problems to get everything done with 1st attempt.

Didn't get meaning of all the steps, but that's not tge point if you get everything done and can use your product.
