Great product if the pause/play switch worked

My most favorite possession

Microsoft has stopped producing Zunes well over 5 years now, but it's one of the items I can't live without.

The mp3 player has stopped receiving updates and the store is no longer available. But for a musicphile like me with an enormous collection of mp3 files, I find the zune app to be simple and easy. I can update my own songs and their titles and mark my favorites and keep my unfavs off my zune do I can always have the tunes to listen to.

The interface is unique but simple and easy to navigate through. You can add mp4 movie files and pics as well to view.

The radio does not work as well anymore. It is very difficult to receive FM signals, but I think that it might be because of an update it crucially needs. No AM.

It syncs great.

Unfortunately, as the zune players get older, the hard drives eventually crash. The batteries run down. It is not waterproof. Sometimes, zune programs crash while looking for an update and can permanently freeze and keep the zune in limbo.

Parts can be found on several websites and videos on YouTube to fix any of the above issues.

This zune I recently bought works great but is my 8th 1st generation mp3. I can't get over the ease of use and convenience so it'll be likely in my life till Microsoft decides to try the mp3 market again...lol 😄Read full review

Love the Zune sound!

When the Zune first came to market I thought they were too expensive. Since my cellphone at the time played MP3's, I lost interest. Now that I have one I now know I really missed out! The Zune was trashed because Microsoft was so well hated back then. This was really unfair to the Zune. The player software is really simple and fast, the sound quality is awesome and the button lay out is just right. I bought mine with a new battery and a new 30GB HD. It is fantastic!
