It came on with the thunderstorm watch and warning, but there was some static. I may need to put some foil on the antenna. The alerts did not continue showing in the window. NO BETTER THAN OTHERS

I bought this mostly cause for a low priced weather radio it has a very good rep. I had thought the one I had was bad, you can turn it on and get NOAA stations BUT it would not alert at all...SO I bought this one. it is decent not the verdor or mfg. fault but it is exactly the same. we had weather warnings yesterday and the new one in the house by the window did not work, but we happened to have the old one outside on the porch on battery power and it worked perfect. NOW I know that we are on the fringe. but the radio always worked where we had it before, so this summer all the sudden some thing has changed with NOAA... guess I will have to add an antenna but I hate spending $20.+ dollars on a maybe.Read full review

Oklahoma necessity

Living in Oklahoma a reliable weather radio is a necessity. My old Radio Shack weather radio that I purchased in 1982 finally walked the rainbow bridge this year so I needed a newer one.
The Midland WR-120 fits the bill. It sits on in the headboard of the bed and wakes us if storms are near during the night. I also have a bigger model downstairs to alert us during the daytime hours.Read full review
