Excellence of Minolta optics.

Despite the plastic mount (which is durable enough for the amateur), and the slow speed of the optics, this lens obtained at a ridiculous low price, demonstrates the excellence of Minolta optics, at all levels of price. Testing the lens for resolution on my Sony A77, i was astonished at the high quality of the image when enlarged, and how favorably it compared to a new high priced zoom by another maker. There is a bargain trove out their waiting for the careful, budget minded user, especially with the broad range of usefulness with higher ISO'S available to the owner of modern digital cameras.Read full review...

Worth the money...

It is an old lens and was probably very sharp when new. I like the photos I've taken with it but compared to a new lens it is soft. Sometimes soft is what you need like in portraits and the like.
