Great Pro Option for the Money

First off, this controller takes some getting used to. Quite a bit if you've only ever used Dualshock controllers especially. The grip is completely different. The placement of the knobs is different. The triggers are angled and shaped differently. This is a completely new controller experience, and thus requires spending ample time with to feel comfortable with. Additionally, for the rest of this review I will be comparing all features to the Sony Dualshock 4.

All that said, once I got used to the differences, I absolutely loved it. It has built in grooves for your hands to slide into, making the grip much tighter. The build quality is excellent and it feels much more solid in my hands. Below is a brief look at each part of the controller:
• Face buttons - larger, clickier, and smooth
• Analog sticks - metal shafts make it feel better, and like it will last longer. The movement is smoother and I prefer the convex right stick and concave left stick. They're also slightly taller, allowing for finer movements.
• D-pad - I don't find myself needing to use it much, but it works fine. No complaints but I also don't think it's amazing either. Feels a bit more loose than DS4.
• Triggers - best part of the controller IMO. L1+R1 are extremely responsive and clicky. L2+R2 are at an odd angle, but after getting used to them they feel fine and are also really responsive. They feel better the more I use them.
• M buttons - They feel ok. Nice that they exist, as the DS4 does not have these, and for certain things they come in handy, but I don't find myself using them much. The inner buttons feel a tad awkward to press, while the outer buttons feel perfectly fine. I think I would prefer triggers over buttons, but they're still responsive and work fine.
• Grip - amazing. No slip whatsoever and as I stated above once I found my spot my hands feel like they're at home using this. I've gone back to the DS4 a couple times and the things just slides right out of my hands and feels so incredibly loose after using the Nacon. Something you don't realize the DS4 is weak in until you use something better for long enough.
• Software - a little learning curve to start but easy enough to use. I mostly just search for pre-made profiles (mostly by other users) and load em up. Quick and easy once you get used to how it works. Switching profiles on the controller while playing is super simple and fast. Literally just a press of a button to scroll through the 4 available presets.

All in all I'm really enjoying it. I don't play super competitively and can't really tell if I play any better, but after about a month of use it feels much more comfortable to use than the DS4. It feels like it will last longer based on the quality build, but only having had it a month I can't say for certain. The weights add a nice touch as I like my controllers heavier. Feels more solid in my hands.

The best PS4 controller yet... period.

Being both an XBone and PS4 owner I can say that IMO Xbone has the better controller. No controller matches their Xbox One Elite for my money. However, this controller is the closest you can get and it's on the PS4!!! It's a game changer for the system (IMO). Feels quite similar to the Elite, same xbox staggered thumb-sticks, button layout etc.. triggers have a slightly different feel but not much of an adjustment at all. The bottom buttons free up your thumbs from needing to leave the sticks to hit the buttons, and the installable weights that come with it are genius and make it feel substantial if you like a weighted feeling controller, as I personally do. You can have 4 separate profiles loaded on it at once (an improvement on the Elite). Full mapping and Macro programability. I simple LOVE this controller so far.

Now for the cons.. I still think this is a fantastic controller but they are definitely worth consideration.

You need to have a windows based PC or laptop handy to customize as the software is not yet Mac compatible and is not within the PS4 itself. It comes with 4 presets but I found I absolutely needed to make my own. Hoping the company in the near future develops an app for the system itself & for Mac OS. (Luckily for me being a Mac guy I just happen to have an old windows laptop under the bed)

Con: No wireless play and the cord though heavy duty is not your standard, it's unique to the controller so if happen to break that you're probably going to have to special order a replacement. Again, it's quite solid and secure so I haven't had any problems at all after the first month but the controller does not take batteries so you NEED the cord to use it.

Con: The macro concept in a controller although may be considered a "cheat" is still an amazing idea (that not even the Xbone Elite can achieve) but, it doesn't work so far in the game I'm currently playing (Bloodborne NG+++). So If you're for some reason buying this JUST for the macro functions that may disappoint you in certain games. I myself feel the 4 underneath buttons enough of an advantage, sorta consider macros a bit overkill and honestly could take some of the joy out of challenging games.

Con: If this thing breaks down I may have to buy another because I don't think I can go back to the standard PS4 controller after using it!

So yeah, I feel good about the purchase. :)

The controller PS4 needs. A savior.

Design 10/10
Comfort 9/10
Custom 10/10

Total: 9.5 out of 10

This thing is a blessing for those with robust, adult hands. Reminiscent of the original Xbox controller. Very comfortable housing, large design, amazing convex R stick, staggered L stick, precise triggers, weighty feel. Full customization with four additional and easy to reach buttons.

It receives negatives for only having adjustment software on PC and lacking wireless potential. I advise for a large medium response curve for shooters with their own aiming algorithms such as Destiny.

Ps4 super controller!

Plays and feels very smooth on normal mode and ofcourse if you put it on advanced mode what you program yourself is very nice and on point! One little thing about the controller is that you have to plug it in your pc and download a program to adjust all the buttons and controls on it. Would be an idea to make like and app on the ps4 to adjust the controls. But anyway very nice controller and would recommend any gamer to get one!Read full review...
