If you’ve never tried one, your missing out big time
Very impressed with this torch/work lamp, so much so I’ve got 4 big Larry’s in the back of my van, the magnetic base enables me to use them as interior lighting in the back of the van, one is enough four is just showing off 😆 even the plumbers have bought one each after pinching mine, I bought a little Larry for my mate and it’s his go to torch.I have a number of expensive Olight torches but I prefer big Larry’s for my day to day needs.Read full review...

Some design flaws, returned for refund
Mine wasn't great & returned for refund. Given a tap/slight drop it reset itself & then wouldn't step through the lighting patterns using the switch. The battery can't be replaced with a 'normal' 18550 cell either due to it being a specially designed cell with concentric contacts on one end & a small bms circuit on the other. This is due to the design of the charging base system. The battery connection is a small spring-loaded central pin that appears to lose momentary contact when the torch is dropped, causing it to reset itself. In short, just avoid this torch & buy the Nebo Franklin instead (it's essentially the same torch but with a flashlight in the top too) which uses normal 18650 cells that are easily changed & uses a conventional charging cable that means it doesn't need the special battery or the spring loaded contacts. Big Larry, slight let down
Great torch really.. great build quality and feel. Super bright and the red setting are ace!
Could probably do with a low power setting for the white light as battery life is limited.
One negative.. it’s uses the versatile 18650 battery widely available worldwide, however they’ve fitted a small circuit board on too of the battery which I’m sure they’ll tell you is a safety feature to prevent over charging blah blah blah.. but in reality it’s so you can only use their batteries as a standard 18650 won’t work in it which sucks as you can’t have multiple batteries for when it dies.. you can probably purchase extra batteries from them but still a pain in the ***
All in all a cracking bit of kit just doesn’t last long

Lightweight with great features

Good torch with a disapointment
This is a good work light tough and heavy, it has a feel of quality about it. But what I found disappointing is the dimming part of it. Instead of going from bright white to dimmer white the dimmer turns the unit red and then the third press takes it to flashing red. Unlike the Little Larry which goes from bright white to dimmer white and then flashing red. This is much more useful for longer jobs where you need the extra work time, but not with a stupid red light.

Great little torch.
I was looking for a bright well built magnetic torch to use in my garage on my car as it has no electricity, there were many cheaper torches claiming to do the same but I can safely say I'm glad I spent the extra on this. Scratched Larry !
If you're sensitive to scratches and glue residue, do not buy Big Larry PRO.
My lamp was scratched both on the plastic glass and the lamp body.
Then there was glue residue left under the lamp glass that also was loose.
In addition, there is a gap between the lamp head and the lower part.

Big Larry Pro is a bargain for the price. It's not "up there" with the cult status £100+ torches but it rules it's own niche:

Charge via 1-2 amp USB anywhere, in a car wherever.
Dimmable to 120 Lumen.
Reasonably tough anodized aluminium construction, that & the threads are OK but not aircraft grade ( as they state) at this price.
Summary - If you are looking for a worklight/camping/emergency/car/find that lost £2 coin torch it fits the bill very well. Recommended.
