This item solves the problem of not having enough ethernet ports on a Router. As with a lot of families, my 3 children love playing "Fortnite" on their consoles along with watching streaming TV and coupled with living in a large detached house the Wifi just doesn't do the job so running ethernet cables (discreetly) around the house was a perfect solution. The only thing was our Router only had 4 ports which were already taken up with various other devices; I was already using an 8 slot Switch but that had been filled easily so I decided to purchase this 16 port switch to give me room to extend what is becoming a busy home network. The device is simply "plug and play" once everything is connected up and there is no apparant lag in the internet service despite numerous devices being used at the same time. The price was amazing, almost half the price of a new one and came complete with the correct power plug. I have been a network engineer since the early 80s and I have seen all sorts of protocols come and go (back as far as token ring).
