Excellent Replacement For Sky Q Hub

I bought this to help boost my signal in my house as i have Sky Q and Sky Q mini but the sky hub supplied just wasn't cutting it, kept disconnecting from main box due to bad WiFi signal coverage because Sky Q mini just mirrors the main box via WiFi
As soon as the product arrive i connected it to my existing sky Hub and used it as a Wireless .Access point, first you have to disable the Wireless on the Sky Hub, next go to your sky q box >settings then search for WiFi from other provider and connect type in the password using the remote once connected do the same on your Sky Q mini Box and sit back and enjoy (also if you have a sky booster plug in to your night hawk using Ethernet cable and hold reset button it should then pair with the night hawk) now my Sky Q works flawlessly with no disconnects and the speeds are just wonderful and this is not even including other features such as ready share (storage) and Netgear genie which shows and allows you to connect to devices on your network by typing in the IP address into internet explorer.
if your sick and tired of rubbish factory equipment from Service Providers then its a Must Buy.

ok at under 100 quid over 100 there are better options

Throttles gigabit lan to 250 mbits when you use certain functions like mac filtering. It can be worked around, but it was undocumented and annoying.

The usb storage mount8ng is extremely unreliable also, so if you wish to use it to run a network share you will be consistently disappointed as it regularly loses the drive and you're going to need physical access to pull the usb hardware to get it to reset.

There are better linksys routers with open firmware, and if you find yourself wondering if this is like the r8000p, no, it's a great deal slower.

Otherwise fine, with relatively strong wifi.

Netgear R8000

I bought many of this for using as AP or normal router for fibre optic and they never let me down. If you need a very good Wireless AC Giga Router look no further then this as will do the job for any type of installation in any type of house or building will have a very good range and top speed (ps depend from your providers).Read full review...

Netgear Nighthawk Router Great WiFi.

We Bought this Nighthawk Router to improve the poor wireless conection strength and speed and and also with a view to installing a home media setup. This router delivers on both of those points. If your not used to setting these things up then use the reccomended app to do this its also called Nighthawk the same as the Router name and you can get the latest download off the Google play store.I myself had to use the app but would have and still do wish the setup had come on a disk so you could manage it through Windows but unless you have a mobile phone or an android device with the latest operating system installed it appears you wont be able to set this up without some prior knowledge on how to do this. The router itself is well made has 4 Gigabit ports and a USB3 port and can be set up in around an hour by a novice like me.Just be carefull with the six ariels as they are a bit flimsy and if you have any children they could easaly get broken off.I tried setting it up in a few places around the house and finaly found the best place was upstairs in the centre of the house but that may be differant for you as we have a large house with solid brick walls. That said it gives a great signal to all our devices laptops and TVs some running at the same time withought the signal falting.I got this for a great price and if your looking for a Router in my humble Novice opinion the Netgear Nighthawk X6 Tri Band is a good choice.Hope this helps you.

Kind Regards...Roy.

Super fast

Bought this because recently upgraded to light stream 250, and my old netgear D6300 was limited what it could handle ! In the reviews they say it is a massive router but it's no bigger than my old one one so that's a bonus reasonably easy set up, did have problem with cloning ssid ! Instead found it easier to stick with default set up , after that really no major problems printer plugged into usb with direct access for all devices and also 1 TB ext hard drive plugged into USB 3 port and ready share done and then backed up both pc,s first time, this router transmits on three chanels 2.4ghz and 2 x 5 ghz and this works really well on my old router I could only get 60mbps on 5 ghz one room away now getting 240 Mbps all devices are markedly faster browsing and downloading, I have also turned on QOS on the router (this prioritises what is the optimum chanel for the individual device) and up to now seems to work well no drop outs fast and reliable, my homeplug system is also faster as well happy days ! You can also turn off the LED display if it is a distraction, In a nutshell would I recommend the R8000 nighthawk ? He'll yes what's not to like fair enough it does look like it's about to take off , or as one reviewer noted an upturned spider, after a day you don't notice only the way it effortlessly does its job with no fuss!

Wifi what wifi

Bought this router as my old belkin had given up, under the illusion that it was the strongest signal available. According to the advertised output I could cover the majority of my house with wifi signal. Since it arrived I am struggling to get wifi in 3/4 of my house, whereas the cheaper belkin did approximately half the house. Miss selling at its best, well done netgear.Read full review...
