Killer modem/router combo, makes no sense to have two for most households.

This thing easily doubled my WiFi range over a 1100 sqft single story home and 7500sq ft lot. I have full connection anywhere on the property. This change was coming from a Netgear C3700 / N600 technology. It also used 2.4gHz and 5G signals like this one, but the power and speed has improved immensely.

I was often getting 45-50Mbps with 250Mbps connection to my old service provider. Now I am getting the 100-110 with a 100Mbps service connection. That's right, my speed went up overall with a slower service to the home.

Immense difference. I highly recommend this.

Extra plus if you are already familiar with Netgear products as the interface remains largely unchanged from earlier models. It's simple but effective.Read full review

Good value - working great

Easy installation. So far zero issues with devices staying connected. Internet speed test showed good performance. Actually a little slower than the leased router from Xfinity that it replaced but good enough for my needs and (obviously) MUCH cheaper - which is why I purchased in the first place. The set-up and utilities provided by Netgear for this modem are better than my old one (although note, this modem does not apparently use the latest / greatest utilities from Netgear but the Genie utility that does work with it is good.Read full review

High quality unit

So far so good. Was an easy installation especially for someone who is not at all technically inclined. Looks good. Works as promised although I did think I could plug a land line into it - was told by Comcast it would accept a land line which is why I bought that particular unit. This modem works great. The WiFi being duel band is a really key feature. The 5 Ghz is super fast. I only opted for the 50 Meg service and this modem is handling it with absolutely no issues. Nighthawk C7000 AC 1900, better area coverage, but not so much better.

I really can't say much about extended range over the less expensive models. I does do a bit better, but not outstanding coverage. It fades in and out during peak hours, but not as much as my older cheaper model. Easy set up, and so far it works A ok for a refurb unit. I should have bought a much higher AC model, except the price is way higher. Only way to go is with a high end router add on.Read full review
