Ultimately, this is the word of God and has the power to transform lives. And the word of God must be clearly understood in order to fully live it out. The parallel version is one way of diving a bit deeper and the Amplified Bible "amplifies" and brings out the real original meanings for a better understanding and better application. Best paired with NKJV which, in my opinion, is the closest to the original KJV but with a more simplified English expression.

Text Smaller Than I'd Hoped

I always enjoy having another translation at hand when I read the Bible...for clarification. This Bible fills the bill. The reason I did not rate it five stars is that the "large print" is not significantly large and the Amplified version is so close to the NKJV that it does not make much of a difference which is read and, therefore, does not offer much clarification of the text.Read full review
