Had this book some years ago and subsequently gave it away to a friend to enjoy. Came back fresh again second time around and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a sense of humour and a love of dogs. You don’t need to be a canal boat enthusiast to read this one. Am now going to re-buy the other two gems from this brilliant author.

I would recommend if you have an interest in narrow boats, whippets or being retired or else if you are really wanting to read something a bit different. I'm am enjoying the story but I'm finding it hard reading as the punctuation isn't great and I am not familiar with narrow boats, whippets or being retired. I'm getting on much better than I did with pride and prejudice that took me ten years because it was too boring. This is holding my attention. Some bits are funny.
