Does exactly what I wanted it to do!

A little tricky getting it mounted on my aluminum-framed screen door. Not enough surface on the frame to utilize all four screw holes, so I drilled through the frame and used nuts and bolts on two of them instead. It's securely fastened, opens easily, and best of all it closes shut with a loud snap that lets me know when someone opens and closes the door. And it keeps my dog safely on the porch! Love it! Love it! Love it!Read full review

Design flaw, doesn't work

Right idea, wrong design. The spring is attached in the wrong place to pull the latch closed. When closing the door, the latch can't travel far enough to have the spring move to the correct angle where it will pull the latch closed. Tried everything I could think of to make it work. Looked online for reviews and found the same problem.

1Doesn't Work.
By dubstermac
This item is simply a poor desiign. I installed it initially using only the two screws in the adjustment slots. In order for the latch to set flat on the door casing I had to chisel out some of the decorative material. I started with the latch in the position where the door would strike the lower roller in the center as suggested in the instructions. I also oiled the two pivot points as indicated on the latch itself. The door would not drive the lower roller back far enough for the spring to engage and pull the upper roller against the door holding it shut. I tried several different settings with no luck. In order to latch the lower roller needs to travel (retract) another 1/4 inch for the spring to engage. I do quite a bit of trim work, and have installed about every kind of closure imaginable, and there is no question that this is installed properly.
Look for something else. This item doesn't work.

OK with some reservation.

Works as long as you shut the door forcefully. Otherwise the rollers will not rotates to the closed position.

Needs a longer outside clasp.

When it was installed and the screen door was opened, the part that holds it closed didn't stay open so when the door closed, it closed on the door catch clasp.
