The film is a true classic, directed by a woman, this motion picture was the FIRST vampire film inspired by the Anne Rice novellas. The pacing of the film is outstanding and if you ever get to see it you will discover so many moments that influenced later films. Great characterization and above par acting make this a worthy addition to anyone’s collection. I rate this film at the level of the vintage 1930s DRACULA for its original take on the vampire lore and the commitment the cast and crew put into making this film.
