Overall this is a budget item rather than a serious scanner but would make a reasonable viewer.
Pros:
Inexpensive
Software easy to install
Easy to connect
Needs no power supply other than a USB connection
Cleaning brush is very effective at removing screen dust (wiper down)
Small footprint
Instant scan
Software provides basic adjustments to exposure colour etc
Cons
Software is very basic and frequently crashes (Under Windows 10)
It does not remember settings (file path, custom adjustments, resolution)
Slide and film carrier are secure with magents but no fine adjustment for film and slide sprockets, resulting in edges showing and image requiring cropping
Even at the highest resolution, the results have edge fringing and limited colour pallet
No focus control
Overall this is a budget item rather than a serious scanner.
What it is quite good for is a negative or slide viewer. Scan can be seen on screen instantaneously and negatives are seen as positives considerably enlarged.
For this price it could save hours needlessly scanning using a professional scanner by allowing your to select only worthwhile slides and negatives for a top quality scanner.Read full review...

Value for money but with limitations.
I am using his on old slides some not very good to start with and some deteriorated .
The colour balance is difficult to get right and the finished product is somewhat 'flat. However for my needs it is adequate. After you can't expect for a lot of a £44 scanner; quality scanners are 10x the cost.
