Surprisingly good for the price
I've used this for sucking oil and petrol a few times and it's worked perfectly, just make sure you check you are using it the right way round, which is easy to check as it has a decent amount of suction power. It doesn't look any the worse for wear yet, so while I don't know how long it would last moving petrol which will dissolve/age a lot a materials used for seals, as my normal use will be with other liquids I expect to get a lot more use out of it.Read full review...

Transfer pump for water only
I bought this to extract engine oil so I didn't have to the drain the oil by undoing the sump nut. I tested this pump with water it worked fine, but when I tried to extract the engine oil it was not efficient at all. I took me over an hour to extract about 4.5 litres of oil, so my guess is that the engine oil viscosity is too thick for this pump to work efficiently. Also found the pump to be too small for any meaningful extraction of a liquid.Read full review...

Fairly robust
Read quite a few reviews about transfer pumps by different sellers and different manufacturers but in the end plumped for this one. It didn't fall apart on first use and neither did it leak like some others apparently do. It took over 60 litres diesel out of an old car without any difficulty, though my only gripe is that after 2 or 3 quick pumps, the diesel should have flowed by itself. It didn't but it was probably because the tank was so low to the ground. It was no big deal however to pump each volume but it's probably much easier if you can get someone to adjust the tube in the fuel tank (as I did) and keep it somewhere near the top of the fuel rather than too deep. Does the Job Perfect.
Needed to drain a fuel tank on a old car and was not sure that would be the best tool to get.
After watching a few videos about this, I got one.
Easy to understand instructions and to put together.
Drained the tank into a jerry can, after a few pumps the siphon effect did the rest of the work.

I initially wanted this pump to inject Bioethanol into the Diesel Particulate Filter on my car to clear a blockage and this pump made it so easy and quick.
