Drive shaft boot
They are easy to use. Don`t have to pull a lot of other parts off to be able to fit it on. Have used these before and they do work very well. Do save you a lot of time to put on. A good product. Just a matter of cutting the old one of, after you have removed the clips on ether end and then slice it from one end to the other and then lift it off. Cut the ends of the new one to match the old one taken off. Clean some of the grease away. wrap the new one around the shaft and glue it together then put grease back onto shaft and slip it over and then clamp it back onto shaft. all done.Read full review...

Pliers
No good for Oetiker type clips. Not enough mechanical advantage to completely close clip and final action of pliers to flatten crimp no good. I used a simple pair of end cutters instead.

Proper ear type pliers.
Purchased these to tighten up some bands on a cv boot on my cars drive shaft, I know you can get away with using side cutters or nail pinchers, but this tool crimps up the ear on the band and flattens it down all in one motion, well that's the idea anyway. I've not used them yet so cannot comment further.Read full review...

Broke on 1st use
Poor quality and the metal handle sheared in 2 on 1st use, I'm not a big strong man but I still managed to break the pliers with just using my hands on a outer VW CV boot clip, these pliers are suited to small clips on breather hoses etc not really up to the job on bigger thicker clips, buy a better heavy duty pair as that is what I needed to use in the end.Read full review...

A well made tool, easy to use, & time saving.
Struggled with various other tools in the past, spending just a few pounds on the proper tool makes it so much easier.

For light use only.
The main issue with these are the handles are very thin and are very uncomfortable when you apply pressure to compress the clip. They also begin to bend under pressure. Fine for small clips but the product would benefit from much more comfortable handles. Read full review...

Light work only
As others have mentioned these are only good for really light work and I would say only on hoses. I would not bother using these for CV boot clips unless you're using really weak ones. On OEM clips these bent before the clips didRead full review...

Neilsen CV boot pliers review
They are a good budget alternative to the clamp manufacturers own product. Used the Neilsen pliers 4 times on VW Beetle axle boots. A bit fiddly to align the pliers correctly, and need to be careful not to over tighten the clamp (they can crimp unevenly - see photo), but they did the job. You need to account for the length of the pliers when on the clamp to ensure they work properly, so these may struggle in a cramped engine bay. Not sure how long they would last with regular use, or on more robust/thicker clamps, but certainly handy enough for the hobby mechanic. Read full review...

Not recommended
True this is quite cheap tool, but it cannot do a proper job. It literally broke off when used it on the second bracket for my CV boot. If it is needed for smaller applications, it is probably ok. But definitely not for CV brackets Read full review...
