Engrossing

Took this on holiday. Hadn't read a novel for a long time. I couldn't put it down. Compelling stuff. Highly recommended.

Yuk

Worst book I've ever read - well, only got to chapter 3.
Subject matter fanciful. Boring style of writing.
Can't understand the hype about this book and author.

good moral sub-plot, basic narrative.

great service, book in great condition, not a great book though. I bought it as a possible novel for my A2 coursework base upon the morality and ethical issues that surround cloning. Unfortunately I did not find the narrative appealing, and the moral issues were partially there, continually running through the book but they only really came to head roused debate in one section of the book. I didn't enjoy the narrative, the way Ishiguro wrote the plot was too basic and irrelevant to the main themes for me. I won't be reading it again. I prefer dystopian novels such as The Handmaid's Tale where the ethical issue is taken and made the focus of the novel, of which the characters and setting follow.Read full review...

Not a typical Ishiguro book...

Interesting concepts and creepingly unsettling.
