Best Bond.by Far

To me, this is simply the best Bond ever. It's a remake of Thunderball by the man who co-wrote it, Kevin McClory (Thunderball was actually designed for the screen from the off, not as a book, which was written from the initial screenplay - Fleming was in facr sued for plagiarism over this) and had a legal wrangle over it with EON over it. Connery, the best ever Bond, reprises his role as Bond brilliantly, and plays an aging agent with great tongue-in-cheek wit. If you only intend to buy one Bond DVD, this should be it. Great humour, a devastatingly sexy femme fatale, action sequences and gadgets that are great but not over the top and a thoroughly modern feel to the film, even after nearly a quarter of a century mean you won't be disappointed.Read full review...

A couple of years ago i had as a gift the full set of bond films(the silver box set). Later i added "Casino royal"and Quantum of Solace.Only to find that Never say Never again was not an official bond film,and therefore not in the set so on to ebay to get a copy. Never Say Never Again - A Pretty Good Effort

Its Bond, its Sean Connery - thats the main reason to buy it. be under no illusions this is not one of connery's strongest bonds. it has none of the usual bond trimmings like the music, the watch, the car (in this film its a super motorbike!) or the proper 'Q' - all part of it being an unoffical bond. still Connery is James Bond, he's the best one there has ever been, and so the film does work. it is basically a remake of thunderball, but with a few new touches like Bond playing a computer game. the acting is sometimes a bit hammy (funny cameo from rowan atkinson though!)and connery is certainly showing his age (grey hair and a bit redder in the face than he used to be) but at the end of the day this is basically a good film that is made great fun by the best bond actor returning to the role after an absence of almost 12 years. also this film, as a bond film, is better than most of the roger moore bond's (except live and let die and the man with the golden gun). Great film to watch, but make sure you watch thunderball before you watch this film, as the original is better.Read full review...

never say never again

This dvd was purchased to complemnt my official james bond collection, it is a remake of thunderball. Like the original it stars sean connery, it has all the action of a bond film but for me does not have the smooth feel to the flow of the film so the original will always be the best...Read full review...

Making up a loss

As a bond film collector I suddenly found one film missing and gone without trace, so I scanned the Ebay and found a DVD replacement and was happy to have my set complete again.
After a quick veiwing of this DVD I think I prefer it to the original Video Tape I lost and I have now got the last film Sean Connery made as 007 Bond so all in all a good outcomeRead full review...
