Fantastic talent.

Bought this album because I'd been lucky enough to see Newton perform a free gig in my local town in Cornwall. I was so impressed by his singing (without any backing band) that I wanted to hear more. I started by purchasing this album as it was earlier in his career and I wanted to buy them in the order he made them so as to experience his journey to where he is now. Loved the album and wasn't disappointed. Each track stands on it's own. Unique and memorable for it's own reasons. Sorry can't think of a negative point to mention. I've been looking forward to hearing more material by Newton since seeing him support James Morrison in February. On the night I bought the UFO E.P. and absolutely loved the songs on it.

I bought Hand Built By Robots yesterday and wasn't disappointed. My personal favourite songs at the moment are Feels Like Home, I Need Something, Dream Catch Me and Teardrop. I know that cover versions of classic songs like Teardrop aren't to everyone's taste but if you like cover versions like those on the Radio 1 Live Lounge this eclipses many of those covers! I think there are a number of other great songs on there and I'm sure my list of favourites will increase with even more listens.

Having seen him live I think that some of the sounds that Newton produces from what most of the time is just an acoustic guitar is fantastic! If you like the album definitely go and see him live as well.

I'd recommend anyone who likes the current crop of singer songwriters developing in the UK like James Morrison and Paolo Nutini and other artists like Ben Harper to check this out.Read full review...

Newton Pure Genius

This is the best money you'll spend in a while...fabulous album!
you would look at him and think, where does that voice come from?!
Melodic, soulfull, a fantastic tone...his voice will melt your heart.
His cover of massive attacks 'teardrop' is truly one of the best i have heard...it mixes in to the album perfectly with catchy tunes like UFO and Gone in the morning...while All I Got and Dream Catch Me are the ultimate in chill out tunes.
BUY! Theres NO WAY you'll be dissapointed...best talent to hit britain in a while...and its about time too!Read full review...

Hand Build by Robots

I normally judge a good CD by how many song of the 10 or so i'd stick ona compliation. Very feww have ever hit the magical 10. Anything over 3 is worthy of purchase.

Hand Built by Robots is a 6/10 for me, putting it firmly in my CD collection, I love a couple of the songs, his version of teardrops and his Dream Catch Me songs are brilliant tracks.Read full review...
