I have used Nikon cameras for years as a hobby photographer, this new D3500 pushes the budget level DSLR into new areas, very lightweight, but quality built as ever. Intuitive and simple to use, image quality when used with Nikkor lenses (I have the standard 18-55mm and the 70-300mm zoom) is excellent for this money. Nikon’s SnapBridge app is superb and transfers images to your phone/tablet instantly once set up, it just works, unlike Lumix. The only minor criticisms would be the screen does not black out automatically when you look through the viewfinder, and the it is not touch sensitive but hey? you won’t get better quality than this for the price.
