I've used all the Nikon flashes for many years and have found this one to be the most consistent and reliable flash Nikon have made. I've recently tried a few other cheaper brands but always return to the Nikon ones. The Nikon SB-5000 is a full-featured flash with a radio remote slave — a first for Nikon. This lets us set up and shoot these in remote or multi-flash setups with less problems than Nikon's previous optically controlled flashes which needed somewhat of a line-of-site between them for reliable operation.

Superb flash gun. Expensive but it is Nikon's top flashgun, Doesn't overheat. Very powerful. Flexible head, locking hot shoe. Takes 4 AA batteries. I use Eneloop cells, bar far the best. Recycles very quickly. Auto zoom flash head.Read full review
