Camera did not turn on or work

Did not work when we got it. Bought & installed a new battery and it is working so far. You would think that it would have been tested to see that everything was working properly before the camera was sold, when we got it it would not even turn on and the battery would not charge in the camera. okay for what it is

i knew when buying it this camera isn't what an enthusiast would use- just bought it as an emergency backup. for that purpose it's good enough to get an image, but that's it.
