Classic timepiece
Very happy with the design, Nintendo have done it again with their superb lightweight variant of the Gameboy. The iconic button and track pad layout, with built in speaker for that 8-bit sound fills out all nostalgic expectation.Read full review...

A versatile handheld with so much stuff to play/collect. Buy a GB now!
The GB is pretty much the handheld of choice for the 90's and everybody and their mother had/still has one somewhere. The games library is vast and varied and there are some real gems for every age and every taste.
I actually prefer the mono 'classic' GB as it feels solid and has enough bulk to make it feel like its not going to fall to bits after repeated use. The variety of colours of GB's on offer is hugely varied and the transparent one in particular really is very cool to own and to play.
To collect games for GB is a challenge as there are literally thousands of titles. There are even extra peripherals that extend the functionality and fun factor of the GB. Everything from barcode readers and printers to solar panels and music creation tools. To collect for the GB is as much fun as to play the GB.
If you want a device that you can just 'play' and not worry about anything else then the GB is the way to go for sure. It feels 'right' and can be good fun for anyone with even a passing interest.
Prices vary for quality, of course, however you can usually pick one up in good, playable condition for literally a few pounds. This makes it a great stocking filler, a great diversion for car journeys for the kids. Even young kids of this generation still seem to derive enjoyment from the GB if you give it to them to play. Mario/Tetris/Kirby, so many loveable mascots with timeless games make the GB a no-brainer if you are interested in gaming or gaming on the move.
To summarise. I would wholehearedly recommend a purchase of a GB in any form. Especially the 'classic' versions. A lot of people may prefer the Pocket or Color versions and of course they are very good but there is something very special about owning the 'original' that cannot be described. For people of that certain age a huge feeling of nostaligia can be gleaned from owning and playing the Classic version of this fantastic, well made, classically designed piece of handheld gaming history.
So many reasons to get one. Have you got yours??Read full review...
