Just the job

By no means the latest of smart phones but if you're looking for an economically priced compact and functional phone this may be just what you're looking for. I wanted one that would fit into a shirt pocket along with my wallet and this does. It's sufficiently compact and slim line to operate most functions with one hand. It is perfectly adequate for making and receiving calls and texts, which is what I primarily use it for. The camera and the video are perfectly adequate too. It's a Windows phone and so if you have a Windows PC, it will synchronise so you can, for example, access your Outlook account if you use it. It also means you can see anything that you have stored in One Drive on the PC including photos. If you don't want this to happen, you'll need to store them elsewhere on the PC as you cannot do it directly from the phone. Nor can you remove the One Drive app to prevent this happening. No obvious issues with accessing the internet - it seems to respond quickly. As regards battery life, it seems fine to me but as I mainly use it for texting plus the odd call, it only needs charging every couple of days. That may not be the case if you're a more heavy user or one into playing games or music.Read full review...

Excellent Nokia phone.....

This is a terrific phone... it was unfairly compared to the 520... but in itself it'll manage all you need from a phone. It's extremely nippy around its menus, the sound quality is excellent and the screen is more than adequate. You can customise it to your heart's content... it's a fun phone.
The Lumia range is hugely under rated with silly comparisons about applications blah de blah... you'll find all the essentials at the store. Overall I can totally recommend this phone... the real plus is battery life. I did a test by putting the phone in to standby and making sure that wi-fi was off, nothing running in the background..... then just using it very sparingly with the odd text and very few calls... battery life was an amazing 22 days.

Upgrade.

The Nokia Lumia 530 was an upgrade for me from the Nokia 2330 which is a very basic handset. I am no techno wizard but this phone caters for my needs adequately.
