Solid performance

This blood pressure cuff is good for small and large wrists alike it is easy to use and very very quiet. I do not need it connected to my cell phone, so I have not tried that feature.

Awesome product, would diff buy again.

Easy to use. Doesn't hurt. The old arm type feels like it is going to kill me.

Nice product

Very easy to use; Bluetooth option works as should; Omron App is easy to use. I don't know, to be honest, how accurate the readings are because I don't have anything to compare it to.

OMRON BP653

The wrist model very compact & easy to use. Added features nice to have if needed. If quality as good as previous arm band it will be excellent.

Good design

I see people wail about BP monitors, all kinds, arm+cuff, wrist, with computer interface, without. They buy one and say it doesn't work. They talk about comparing at the Dr's office, and advise not to buy this or that model.

Do you really think a company like Omron, who's been in this business for decades, is making junk that is flawed from the gitgo, and trying to cheat you? Why would they bother ?

Here's something to try. If you have several devices, including the simplest possible cuff and stethoscope rig, run many tests, around the same time. I did. And what I found is that no two tests give the same reading. Even if you run them simultaneously, or close. There are a million reasons for this, including the fact that some people have a quite different perfusion/pressure at the wrist and at the elbow. These people will never get a meaningful reading at the wrist unless they figure out a way to compensate. Another reason is just variation. Every heartbeat pushes against a dynamic system of blood vessels that are being adjusted on the fly to maintain oxygenation of the most critical tissues. So there's no perfectly stable BP, and it varies more in some people than others. The units that take multiple readings and average them are useful.

I was taking two readings on alternating wrists, and comparing to a cuff. The advice they give about sitting calmly for 5-10 minutes and "stabilizng" is correct, though unrealistic. Who has time. But at least give it a moment, position yourself exactly the same each time, don't wiggle, etc. It takes attention to detail. It's not like sticking a thermometer somewhere. And take enough readings to get a sense of where you stand. Then just use the device knowing how to measure reliably and interpret the readings. If you're one of the people who can't, don't use a wrist unit. But don't blame the manufacturer.

These monitors are very well made. The bluetooth connection is overall good, as you may know, it's a finicky protocol, other devices nearby interfere, so you will occasionally have to resend. The software on iPhones and Androids isn't very fancy, but you can do most everything you need on the web site, like exporting, deleting individual readings, etc. I think this is a very nice piece of gear.

What I needed.

This product is excellent, great quality. I had to have an at home blood pressure instrument and this was the one that I chose. I knew the name Omron and knew they sold great products.
This is very easy to use, goes on your wrist, press a button on the cuff and it goes without any problem.
It is run by a single battery, easy to put in.
I couldn't be happier with the product and would recommend this to anyone who is thinking about purchasing it.

Blood pressure monitor

Very nice product, easy to set up, uncomplicated instructions, very easy to use and read. I had tried to use an arm band unit and it was very difficult to put on and then read. The Omron was so simple and effective by comparison. It has a light to insure that the arm is in the right place for a reading. It isn't painful and the operation is quiet. I'm pleased!Read full review
