Okatsune Secateurs

I have used many makes of secateurs over the years and each one has shown different characteristics. These Japanese secateurs have proved very nice to use - they fall naturally in the hand and are comfortable in use.. They are of course very sharp and that gives confidence to the user. Best described for me as effective and simple. The lock is basic and effective possibly looking unrefined. In reality the lock works well and that is what is required. Again I suppose the spring was unfamiliar but very effective.
I have been alternating between my Felco secateurs and the Japanese ones. I find I often have picked up the Japanese ones.
Overall a very effective tool and I am pleased to use it .

Make pruning a joy!

I’m so happy I finally purchased these secateurs, after first reading about them 7 or 8 years ago, I thought they sounded very good, but were too expensive to justify the cost. Over the last 8 years I’ve worn out or broken 4 pairs of cheaper secateurs, 2 of which were made by well known manufacturers. And two pairs of heavy duty loppers. My garden isn’t huge, but I do have shrubs, climbers, soft fruit, roses and a small orchard to maintain. Sometimes walking along the paths is like battling a jungle!
I’ve only used these secateurs for an hour, but I’ve experimented with different hardness and thickness of material and they cut like a dream. Every cut was clean and effortless. The spring action and the gentle curve of the handle fits with the flex of my hand perfectly.
I’m looking forward to using this again tomorrow, and hopefully for many , many years to come.
My only criticism is that they are on the small side for my feminine hand, but I do do a lot of gardening and my hands are probably on the beefy side. If I was buying them again, I’d chose the larger size.
Happy pruning!

Silky secateurs,not too heavy.

Super sharp cutting blades, comfortable grip and easy to use.Good locking mechanism, situated out of the way so that it doesn’t interfere with using the secateurs, very pleased with the quality.Thanks.

Quality secateurs that make simple work of even the toughest pruning

Okatsuna KST103 are superb quality secateurs that cut through even the toughest of small branches and stems with ease. Yet despite being robust they are lightweight and comfortable to handle. Yes, they're expensive compared to other makes of secateurs but to my mind they are well worth the extra cost.Read full review

Top quality

Husband very happy with these for his birthday, loves how they feel and cut, made short work of jobs up the allotment. Should last a long time, and can be sharpened or bits replaced so hopefully last a lifetime! Read full review

Excellent secateurs

Easy action, & (almost) effortless cutting. Pruning is a snip. Initial impression is that these best secateurs we've had in 40 years. 4 stars, because only time will tell if worth 5.

Great secateurs!

Really well made product. Looks like they should last a lifetime. The catch that keeps them closed is capable of pinching you when you close it but it's just a question of getting used to working with the secateurs. Read full review
