A warning about totalitarianism

Interesting the way the author uses no chapters in the book but uses one continuous text emphasising the monotonous continual horror of gulag life.

Thought provoking

I "good" day in the life of a gulag prisoner in the middle of a Soviet Winter.
It makes you realise how lucky you are.
Enjoy your porridge!

Ivan D

It is an important book but an artist can put this across more compellingly such as in the film “the separation”.

Compelling read

Excellent book that epitomises life in Russian gulags, and life in general.
