Does the job
I needed an amplifier to boost the signal from an indifferent aerial which I could not replace. I already had a high gain amplifier/splitter to distribute the signal but this was not enough. I also had a problem, in that, the local mobile tower have recently been upgraded from G2 to G4 and I had Freeview on C59 disturbed. With no amplifier, none of my receivers would detect any signal from the aerial.
This device solved all the problems, I hooked it up in front of the amp/splitter and adjusted the gain on the splitter finding a position which allowed all my sets to receive all the channels with no issues.
This device is a definite alternative to a bigger aerial which may cause its own problems.
Definitely recommend if you have a low signal level from the aerial.Read full review...

Mediocre results
Bought to be used in line with my already powered indoor booster aerial which was pulling 64% signal it now gets 77% signal. Not a huge boost but enough to get decent reception. If you're having really poor reception I wouldn't recommend to use it alone. Used for VHF/FM; the power supply is not good enough
The amplifier is very compact and looks good.
Not tried for TV signals.
For FM radio/VHF it does provide some boost; veryvdebatable if it's 23dB but it claims 'up to 23dB' so...
The power supply unit that comes with it is a switcher and would appear to have way too much ripple on its output and produces a hum on the FM signal. Not known if the same can be said for TV signals - not tested.
Running the amplifier from a linear power supply, the amplifier drew about 25mA and there was no hum evident.Read full review...

Easy to mount and get it working. I use an indoor aerial because we get high winds here on a hill in the South West. Now I have a strong TV signal with clear picture and sound. Needed male aerial connectors in and out so you may find you don't have the right lead. I had a spare plug anyway.
The mains adaptor is supplied. The supply cable is very short: long enough for your living room but if you're using it in the loft you will need a mains extension to feed it. I'm still very pleased.Read full review...

The signal is slightly stronger but also the “noise” is worse. In other words the picture is slightly less sharp. Going to try a new aerial and see if that helps.
