A very pleasant surprise.
I bought this for an elderly disabled sister who can't make tea since she spills most of it. My plan was that someone could empty it, put cold water (safety) in, boil it and put in the tea bags. Sister could then half fill a cup and come back for the other half whenever she liked and as often as she liked. It was essential that I tried it all first to make sure the system worked. I think I just had the best cup of tea I have had in years.
There is no kettle "taste", the tea keeps hot and it's easy to clean. Unfortunately my sister has gone into hospital for a couple of weeks so she may not be getting this urn after all. I suppose I could always buy another.
I have yet to fit the drip tray. Someone said that if you do there is not a lot of room for the cup. I'll find out later. In the meantime placing the urn with the tap over the edge of the worktop works fine. There haven't been any drips.
ADDENDUM: I will state the absolutely obvious and say don't try moving this heavy object when full of hot tea. The carrying handle is part of the lid which easily comes off even when "locked". The inadequate lock gives up under the merest pressure. I know that no-one would be daft enough to try to carry several litres of hot tea but I bet you that someone will try it.Read full review

Flawed design good quality
Only holds 6.5 litres of useable water, the 8 litre measures above the maximum line and below the tap and so is in useable. Also, the tap is too low for anything other than a small mug. It is good quality though. I’ve had to stand mine on a plinth Read full review

Great buy.
I was going to buy another 24hr water heater, but previous one did make the water taste odd, and in searching I came across this. It is excellent; I read a review that said it was difficult putting cup under tap, I did not have that problem, I can only assume they were using big mugs.

Needed new one as previous one gave up the ghost . Despite it's apparent small size, it dispenses plenty of hot water for pub use . Sits neatly on back bar for staff cuppas and buffet use ( eg funeral teas/coffee) . Easy to fill and use. Keeps itself hot unlike the previous one where i had to keep turning up and down.
