A Good Flight Simulator

My previous review was wrong, The Flight Simulator needs to be downloaded without global scenery, just select a few continents and it will work fine. I love the graphics and the ability to follow maps to and from airports and and contact the air tower, ground control etc, it is great. The only two issues I have with it, is the lack of aircraft and there's no missions on it but other than these issues, it's a great flight simulator.Read full review

great graphics, but AVOID the version on DVD!!!

The game itself is great - really good graphics, albeit eats loads of resources and my mobile workstation is on the limit...a desktop would be recommendable

However, I purchased the DVDs and it took me 1DAY !!!!! to install just the basics (2 DVDs). Also, there is a terrible lagging while playing as you need to play one of the DVDs while running the game. Perhaps it would be different if a registering code would be provided, however, I am completely unsatisfied with the product as the lagging renders the game useless and frustrating.Read full review

fantastic upgrade

i know that xplane 11 has been out for a while now but having used xplane 10 for a couple of years and seeing how much better (imho) it was than fsx, i wasn't really sure that an upgrade was really worth while. having used this for a few weeks now i can really appreciate the differences between the old and the new. one of my favourite parts of the upgrade is the interface to generate the flight. its so much simpler (and yet in depth) than xplane 10 its a truly easy and effective way to set up your flight. the graphics are better although my 27" imac i7 with 4Gb video card (but only 16Gb of ram) struggles to keep up sometimes. the joystick set up is simple and the image of the controller with numbered buttons again makes things nice and easy. on the down side i still have issues with the atc (this cost you a star, sorry) but at the price i paid would regard this as a bargain and a well worthwhile upgrade.Read full review

I think it is a step up from FSX however it does have one or two bugs such as some update files being unable to be unzipped. I expect these will be corrected on further updates but overall I’m pleased with the product.Read full review
