Comes in an easy to assemble kit form, once assembled it can be used to move locos from one track to another, or to turn a loco around, or to rerail a loco you wish to put on the track without the bother of aligning the wheels on the track, just place the unit on a section of straight track, the grooves in the bottom sit over the rails of the track, you can then drive a loco on to the unit to move it elsewhere or just turn it around and locate back on track and drive off the unit back on to the track, all in all a very useful piece of kitRead full review

Very good concept - fits OVER the track on any straight section so ou can drive your loco onto or off it without having to touch the loco - power automatically transmitted from track to loco lift.. Acts as a re-railer as well on curved track. Not sure about stacking them on top of each other - stable?
Not as easy to put together as the instructions imply - parts need a bit of fettling to fit together. So tight the recommended glue probably unnecessary. A bit on the expensive side at full price.Read full review

A must for avoiding handling your precious locomotives.

Does what it says on the box. What is good about the loco lift is that you drive your loco on and off the cradle and can lift it off the track with or without the loco and place the it in a drawer for safe keeping without having to touch it thus eliminating the possibility of damaging any fine detail. Only one thing to watch for is that you make sure you keep the loco lift level so that the loco doesn't run off the built-in track! I have learnt to lift the cradle with my thumbs and index fingers at either end and my middle fingers used to block off the escape routes! Simples!
Apparently Peco are re-designing the loco lift (hence why it's difficult to find them at present) so it would be interesting to see if they address this "escape route" in some way. I have 25 - one for each of my "precious" DCC/sound fitted locos and stored safely in a chest of drawers. They can be a bit pricey but worth it when you realise the value of them in protecting your locos.
