Slow, but great value
Very easy to use with good options for color correction, sharpening. But color correction doesn't always work right giving off color results. But correctible in Photoshop. It's quite slow and one has to do one slide at a time, but the price is right providing good value. I bought this unit as open box to replace an identical unit I already had. I don't think it is a current model.Read full review

Good inexpensive scanner
Pacific does not support this specific model any longer and the included software may not work with newer versions of Windows or Mac OS. VueScan from Hamrick Software works well and is able for purchase.
The scanner is easy to use and replicates colors well from slides. I haven't tried it on negatives yet. As a typical guy, I ignored the instructions; the software interface is intuitive.
As a first scanner, this is easy to use and may be the only one a novice may need.Read full review

Best Filmstrip Scanner I've Used
I'm using this scanner to digitize materials on microfilm. Machine does a very good job of capturing details. Updated driver is available through the manufacturer's website.

A very good scanner ..
I got the software in the site. In the begining the scanning stopped in the end, blocking the Windows and needing a restart of the computer. I went to the site and tipped me to unninstall the driver and install it again. I did this and after that the scanner worked perfectly and in a very fast way. The quality of the scans are very high in definition, acurate colours and luminosity. There is no negative carrier, so, you adjust the frames one by one. But the scanning is very fast and you can get a high rate of work. The scanner has auto focus and a very high optical resolution of 3600x3600 dpi. The standart resolution of the software is 900 dpi and if you do not need very high enlargements you get the same definition as 3600 dpi. The scans are made in Tiff. There is not too much noise of operation. I took of my archive two very old negatives of my daughter in the beach when she was a baby. The negatives were made in Tri X 400 but were undeveloped and very soft. I had a darkroom at home in those days and I got poor results in printing. Scanning with the Pacific got me strong results. This scanner got me two sharp and contrasty images, much better than the results I got in my enlarger, equipped with a Nikkor f:2.8 enlarging lens!. I think that this scanner is a very good buy for the money. Very worthy!Read full review
