Convert your VHS to DVD with ease!

If you want to convert old VHS tapes to DVD, this is a very easy machine to use. A couple of buttons pushed and off it goes. Finalising the DVDs was also very easy. It does record tapes in real time, so a certain amount of attention is requires. Satisfactory purchase.

This machine functions as expected and the results are satisfactory. It came without a manual but one can easily be downloaded from an internet site. The remote control provided was not identical with that illustrated in the manual but it has been possible to transmit every necessary command with it. Whilst DVDs still hold most of the centre ground of TV recorded and recording media, with hard drives in various forms making their play for the next step in digital TV recoording, give a thought for the many, many people who still have a vast library (albeit on large, clunky tapes) of VHS recordings.

A VHS-DVD recorder combo allows for: a)playing of old VHS media. b) recording digitally onto W/R DVDs. c) dubbing of favourite old VHS reordings onto DVD for digital storage. d) re-recording on both VHS and DVD. e) recording of 2 programmes at once etc.

The Panasonic DMR-ES30V DVD Recorder/VCR Combo is a fantastic machine and prices on standard machine seem to be falling fast (latest model has Freeview built in).

VHS, and eventually DVD, is obviously on its way out but this will help to tie things over and fill the media-gap until we'll all using hard drives or whatever replaces them!Read full review...

Brilliant machine for easy copying between DVD and VHS. One touch recording and great quality.
Although its not Digital, it's easy to record from external sources through the scary and AV inputs from, say a Sky box or free view receiver.
