Panasonic TZ5

for a compact camera that fits your pocket it is excellent. good clear pictures and a large screen - and with intelligent focus it is simple to use and get excellent shots.

The TZ5 is an older model in nte panasonic range but has everything that is needed. Battery life is good and with memory cards being relataively cheap there is almost unlimited photo opportunities - the downside? having too mnay photos to choose frm!!Read full review...

holiday camera

after reading as much information as i could regarding various digital cameras compared to my sony cybershot i opted for the panasonic lumix as my choice to take on an upcoming trip to the philippines and what a good choice it was .I have been practising with it (not that you really need to )with excellant results its a1 feature (although not for the purest/professional )is ideal for amateurs such as myself just point and shoot ,the camera is and feels substantial but perhaps a little bulky for travelling not easy to slip into ones pocket as my cybershot is .I sure that during my upcoming trip i shall use the many other features of the camera night shooting,portrait etc,its 10x optical zoom is excellant as is its 28mm wide angle lens allows you to pack a lot into a small picture ,face detection,shake detection and light detection make this a very easy camera to use and in my opinion good value for moneyRead full review...

Great everyday camera

Fairly small and portable despite the 10x zoom means you can take it with you everywhere for spontaneous shots. I bought it to replace the brand-new TZ6 my daughter lost after a few weeks and I didn't want to spend another £200 on a replacement so she was lucky I got this obolete model for her at a good price. I like the metal body and the zoom is brilliant - to think it all packs away flush into the body of the camera! The zoom steps could do with being a bit finer but otherwise no probs. There's even an instant max/min zoom button, which could prove useful. Minimal shutter delay and optical (not digiata)image stabilisation means fewer missed shots - so many cameras are spoiled by lengthy shutter lag. Loads of options for customising coupled with most common functions being accessed by buttons instead of menus meeans the tz5 is very easy to use and vesatile. I no longer have any SLRs because I'm more of an occasional snapper than anything else and this camera fits the replacement bill perfectly. Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera

The camera is of very good quality and it takes fantatic photos.
In my personal opinion you wont find a better compact digital camera than the Panasonic lumix series.

TOP COMPACT CAMERA

So many good www reviews and videos on YouTube about tbis camera persuaded me to buy for my daughter. I have the inferior TZ1 which has been great and still is. Rather than repeat the words of greater experts than I am, I suggest you google Lumix TZ5 and learn about all the features and innovations of this little pocket rocket. Provided it lasts,( several broken ones on eBay - why ? dropped or what ? surely one protects a nearly £200 investment ?) this is a great used buy at under £100. Miles better than pretty little alternatives which underperform this and lose out on many features.Read full review...
