Old CD/video player packed up so wanted a new one. WHilst we have replaced most of the videos we still have a few old videos (kids when they were young) which we haven't transfered across.
New cd/videos are no longer made, so looked for a refurbished one and this fitted the bill.
very pleased and highly recommended.Read full review...

ok for vhs and dvd but not tv
it is a good product but dated. it doesn't receive digital tv only analogue signals - not useful for modern tv. the vhs and dvd work fine and that is why I bought it.

Lovely piece of well engineered technology. Suits me to the ground.
Up front comment. I am a Panasonic fan.
Last of this particular series on video and DVD players. Now number three in our stable, one bought new from Sainsbury Electrical and two on E Bay.
r>Both functions are excellent. They work well. Only problem encountered has been a reticence to eject. This has been on two different machines and has been the video and DVD. The solution has been to release the fixing screws on the side and back to remove the metal cover. Inside it reveals the normal robust Panasonic mechanism and electronics. It appears that metal cover can be overtightened or deflected on the front to obstruct the plastic flap for the video and tray for the DVD. Once released and the cover replaced the problem never re-occurred. No apparent cause.
The unit has a wealth of functions only accessible via the correct remote control. Second hand machines have come with the wrong ones. Normally a television one that has limited combo functionality. Buyer beware of the seller, make sure you have the right one which is listed in the online Panasonic manual. I have found sellers aren't bothered once its been despatched. The correct remotes are available on E Bay but seem to command a high value compared to the machine? I managed to find one at a not silly price to make a perfect set up.
A quality piece of old technology that should match my older CRT and newer HD LCD Panasonics very well. Records saellite and external signals fine and fault free. Video will carry on in many homes for a number of years. The facility to transfer to DVD will eke the lifetime out for a little longer. One day I will have to update to new technology but what you have in this machine probably offers the pinicle of the old world when function triumphed over style. I expect another 5 to 6 years of good service at the minimum. A good stock of video tape is available. Style is good, it reflects my needs and expectations. Worth a punt.Read full review...

Dated controls. Works well
The kind of controls we now find dated, but it is an old machine. Good value for money though and prompt service.
