It came well packed...
I started using it right away;easy hook-up, good picture quality. Better than the one it's replacing. I haven't used the universal remote yet.... I don't remember that the old vcr displayed the closed captioning!

Missing Parts
The product works fine but its being advertised as coming with cables and a remote. There were no cables nor a remote. I had to purchase cables for it to work. I have no remote that I paid for...and can't find one compatible to operate it. So its not a defect in the product...just incompetency of EBay with no checks in place to make sure customers actually get what they pay for. Then to make it worse...EBay doesn't have Customer Service availability to speak with a live person. HOW FUSTRATING !!! Read full review

I am very satisfied with the seller and the VCR.
The VCR works fine. It had some scratches on top of the cabinet, but that doesn't have any thing to do with the working of the unit. I am happy that the unit works, after all it is a used VCR.

I was mainly concerned with 'flagging' where the VCR heads can't properly line up with the track on the tape or the VCR couldn't correct it. Not a problem here. No remote but that didn't matter.
