Excellent, well made unit but need to be patient with menus!
Looks good, slim, quite easy to use without always needing to refer to the manual, good editing features. Fast recording where permitted is excellent. Front menu on finalised DVDs also smart.
>Negative points: the menus are slow and there is an appreciable delay for some menus to appear and leads to pressing remote buttons twice or three times (so losing the menu or doing something you didn't want to do)... very frustrating until you get used to it.Read full review

Recorder fault , can not record two channels at once as second tuner not working
Blue ray player works fine, slow in loading up, but that’s normal with Panasonic. When it comes to the recording of tv programmes one tuner works, but the lower ,2nd one does not. Have checked satellite, lnb and cables, all fine. So unit needs to be returned to be sorted. Read full review

All in one box
I ordered this gadget to cut down on clutter: I live in a Studio flat where space is at a premium, so now I have the freesat box and the DVD player in one compact unit, leaving more space to store my DVDs.
I like the interface, and very quickly found my way around the controls. It's useful that the remote control can also operate the TV, so I now use one remote instead of 3.
To sum up: It's a well-designed piece of kit and I'mveryhappy with it.Read full review

Does exactly what it says ...
...on the tin
unlike the manual, which is occasionally impenetrable, occasionally inaccurate, claiming facilities/menu options which don't exist, and probably refer to the architecture of an earlier model.
(BTW, no idea what "1 year war" refers to in "RATE AND REVIEW Panasonic DMR-BS750 250GB HDD/Blu ray Twin Tuner HD Freesat Recorder,1 Year War")Read full review

Old and slow but good
it is a great shame Panasonic stopped making these machines as the technology is already quite old, surpassed by the technology they now have on Freeplay Blu Ray recorders that work using an aerial for terrestrial broadcasts.
Everything is slightly different to the terrestrial version, even the position of buttons on the remote, and many things take a long time to kick in. Also frustratingly, there is no automatic chapter marking so one has to do that oneself after the programme is recorded. Of course being satellite it also suffers from sudden loss of picture due to weather conditions, and ITV HD has proved impossible to get where I now live, or rather I can see it but it breaks up an awful lot, or freezes. This is due to the weakness of the tuner compared to other satellite boxes like the Humax, or even Sky + HD, and this is probably a result of the age of the box now. Hopefully it will last for some time, as it is the only machine available now one can use to record and archive UK Freeplay television onto Blu Ray from satellite. I surely cant be the only one wanting to archive programmes onto Blu Ray!Read full review

Satellite twin tuner
Why manufacturers have stopped making Freesat recorder/players, I don't know. Probably the near universality of Sky.
All the current Freesat PVRs allow you to record broadcasts, but do NOT allow you to archive to DVD or Blu-ray discs.
This Panasonic machine, although production ceased some years ago, allows you to do just that.
In addition, the one I have purchased is multi-region.
I am impressed with the ease of use, although sometimes it is a little slow to respond to Function commands. However, this is more than compensated for, by the excellent HD performance. Even SD looks good via the HDMI cable.
Overall I rate it almost 10 out of 10.Read full review

Better than it,s sum of parts.
It records freesat broadcasts and will record two channels at the same time. Panasonic stopped making these units some time ago so I now have two.

Panasonic bluray player
Our last bluray died after 8 years of heavy use. Coulldn’t find a new updated version, so went back to what we know and sourced an identical replacement. Phew! Very relieved.

Brilliant Recorder But
This is my third Panasonic recorder and my second DMR-BS750 The reason for this purchase is because Panasonic has stopped production of its Freesat Recorder range. So this is purely a back up to my existing recorder as I would hate to be without it.Read full review
