Best camera I have ever owned

This camera has limitless functions which are easy to access and use to produce excellent pictures. The lens is very high quality Ziess, with a zoom that is amazing, as though it is indicated as being a 400mm, it actually zooms to a much higher magnification than this using some tech wizardry, which together with dual stabilization, results in amazing pictures, even without using a tripod. Good all rounder

I had a DSLR but it's video was poor and erractic. Bought this after some research. Wanted a stills camera, but one that would take good video too. Panasonic lumix fz 1000

Outstanding camera. A joy to use with all controls for just about everything at your fingertips and excellent image quality. A strong alternative to entry level DSLR

I have had many DSLR's in my time and used them like most people, day to day, holidays etc. Although the Z1000 cannot ultimately compete with the superior image quality, it isn't as far behind as you would think. The auto focus is lightning fast and accurate, the 24-400 lens is ample for most scenario's and its party piece, the 4K video function. This is some serious kit for the money, great lens, bundles of options and with the edition of 4K, its hard to look elsewhere. If you are not a full blown professional photographer, this is a serious option to compete with entry level DSLR's, or as an addition to your current kit.

Stunning Camera

As I only wanted a Bridge camera with 4K video this is ideal for me its features and ease of use make it child's play
to get to grips with however their are are a wealth of extra things it can do that I am only just discovering
but this is no toy its a very serious bit of kit if you look on you tube search for the term LUMIX DMC FZ1000
and check out Panasonic Americas series of 20 videos they go over all the basics of this camera far better than any review I could write see there are several other good videos on there too from independent reviewers
At the time of this review November 2016 this Camera is now a couple of years old
and you can get one for around £500 this sounds a lot but if you you find a good
clean example its very worth it you wont be disappointed !

if you've ever been caught in the no-mans-land between a bridge and SLR, this is the answer. I loved my SLRs (Nikon and Canon) but hate carrying loads of lenses around and forever changing them . The zoom on the FZ1000 is amazing and yet the macro close-ups are also fantastic. It can be a little fiddly on the manual settings but the auto is so good it's tempting just to leave the dial there all day, although the creative scenes feature has so many settings is great fun to play with. Totally recommend this awesome camera. Great HD video too, with the ability to take single frames from the the video. Great camera, great value.Read full review...
