I HATE TO BE NEGATIVE, BUT . . .

When the only thing that this movie is famous for, is that you can see Bill Holden's chest unshaven, you have to know that there is nothing happening here. The plot about a blocked writer who hires a secretary to help him meet the deadline, is weak conceit, which only makes the viewer impatient and disgusted with the many false starts and discarded plot starts. Even Miss Hepburn's usually spectacular wardrobe by Givenchy is lackluster; the colors were wrong for her; the clothes were not for a leading lady. The lack of plot goes off in too many directions, and it just becomes a mish-mash that mercifully ends at some point, with neither mega-star able to save this waste of life. Their previous pairing in SABRINA was so stellar (see that) you have to wonder what happened here. Nothing can save a movie with basically no script.Read full review...

quirky and fun!

I'm a big Audrey Hepburn fan and this is one of my favorites! Very unusual premise. Basically, it's a movie about making a movie (and at one point, a movie within the movie within the movie even finds its way into the plot). The film they try to write is comically terrible, adding a unique charm to "Paris When It Sizzles." A must-have for any Audrey Hepburn or William Holden fan.Read full review...
