So easy !

I bought this tool from a fellow bike builder's recommendation. All I can say is "WOW" ! I takes the work/struggle out of taking the speed links out. If you have too wrestle with these links then you need this tool. I bought 2,one for my bike repair stand and one for my bike tool pouch in my hydration backpack. I will be totally covered because it is one of those tools that you wish you had when you need it ....get it now ...before you need it..

*** Every mountain biker should have ALWAYS have a chain breaker with them whenever they are on the trails !!

Really Necessary

I changed the chain on my bike, replacing it with a KMC X9.93 chain and had a lot of trouble with the "quick" link. Although I was finally able to get it on, I decided to go ahead and get the MLP-1.2 pliers. I used the pliers to make sure that the quick link was in place thoroughly, and I can see that the job would have been MUCH easier if I had bought it earlier. Live and Learn. Small price to pay for much easier installation.Read full review

Quality and utility typical of park tools

Use these pliers for very specific purposes: to remove or assist in attaching master links in a chain. Very handy to have, as really no other type of pliers does this job. Another winner in a long line of Park bicycle specific tools.Read full review

Master the master link

I decided to put a master link in my bike chain to make it easy to remove and clean. Getting the link together was okay but then I discovered that I had fed the chain through the rear jockey wheel incorrectly. Try and try but I couldn't separate the master link. This tool did the job in seconds and after I reset the chain the tool re-linked the master in another second. It saved the day!Read full review

Sure beats using a chain tool.

Have used quick links for a long while and found this to be a quick and easy solution to compressing the chain links when breaking chain. Tried needle nose pliers with cumbersome results. Very quick & easy to use, especially when compared to using the traditional chain breaker.Read full review

Good to have

This job can be done with wires, needle-nosed pliers, etc. And I may resort to those tactics in the field if a chain fails. But at home when I'm doing adjustments and chain work on my own and others' recumbent trikes, this tool makes it SO much easier and faster. As well as the usual Park Tool quality. The new tip shape makes both snapping and unsnapping a breeze, I'm giving away my older tool. Read full review

Miracle Tool

It works better than I expected. It is so easy to assemble and disassemble the master link for my chain. I used to have a very frustrating time trying to assemble and disassemble master links without a tool.Read full review

A "gotta have" tool at a good price

I've only used it once so far but it worked like a charm! I have been using needle nosed pliers and screw drivers and driving myself nuts for the past couple years so this was a nice change. I can't speak to the toughness or longevity of the tool yet but I have always found Park tools to be of excellent quality overall.Read full review
