Substantial Variety

Although this oil pastel set is marketed for kids, it is very appropriate for any artist who happens to enjoy working with this type of media. Oil pastels certainly do not compare with chalk pastels or charcoal, but they have their own possibilities and can also be combined with other media in your composition.

I personally recommend the 50 color set over the 25 set. With the Pentel set, you get 2 whites (hence, 50 sticks but 49 colors), 1 black, a good selection of grays and warm browns, and nice variations of colors.

Enjoy, and do not feel awkward about its designation for "kids."Read full review

No problem with the seller at all. Just know that Pentel oil pastels are just used as a work horse to cover a lot of area and use your pro-grade oil pastels for your highlights and details. As a standalone oil pastel, these are very low quality; the horrendous stink and lack of pigment is something you need to get past if you plan to use Pentel. Read full review

Colorful and durable pastels
