Surfing described to the common person.
A great representation of the contemporary sport of Surfing. It is very detailed and includes great pictures of important surfers that influenced the sport. I surfed from 1962- 1980, the golden years. The book illuminates the culture, attitude, and influences that encompassed that era. It was a great time to be in Southern California, or any coast for that matter. Commercialization took over. The style of clothes, the lingo, the values, the appreciation of our Mother Ocean all fell to the wayside, in search to the all mighty $. Too bad. This book at least holds true to the essence of what surfing is all about, communing with Nature at it's most intimate level...catching a wave.Read full review
