Pestbye Ultrasonic Cat Repeller

My neighbours have 3 cats they turf out each morning and like to poop in my garden, I am a cat lover but also hate picking up their mess. I reviewed the Pestbye and it came up as pretty good.
Easy to put together though each unit uses 4 x AAA batteries so best to invest in rechargeable ones if you want long term protection. No instructions for setting frequency in box but found youtube users who gave that info. Set both dials to 5 and like me stake in garden pointing at where they poop. Since installing the cats sit on the fence but do not stay long in the garden. depending on the cats it can take a week or so to deter them but as I have 2 Pestbye in the garden its been pretty instant. After a while the cats should poop elsewhere so you don't need to use the Pestbye all year around. If problem comes back just put in garden again. I gave a 4 out of 5 star only due to lack of setting up instructions.Read full review...

Reasonable quality but fiddly

The units are fairly new so I cannot yet comment on their effectiveness, but the units themselves seem to be fairly robust and I particularly like the fact that the ground spike is made of metal rather than plastic. The last model I purchased had a plastic spike that broke fairly quickly.

One annoyance is the battery cover that requires the removal and replacement of four tiny screws and careful re-positioning of a rubber gasket every time the batteries need replacing.

There is no option of running these units from a mains adaptor, which is rather frustrating as that would negate the need to replace batteries and keep the unit running on maximum power.Read full review...

Very effective repeller for cats and dogs

I ordered two repellers but one of them emitted a loud audible bleep which I did not expect. However, upon notifying the supplier I immediately received a replacement. Since putting the two repellers in my gardens I have had no further problems with cats or dogs both of which were causing me grief as my gardens were used as their toilets. Very happy with the product as I can adjust the frequency (for the type of animal) and sensitivity (for the range) quite easily.Read full review...

Good product

On the whole these appear to work but I've only given them four stars as one very persistent cat does keep turning up. Admittedly not as regularly as before we bought the scarers. Effective scarer but over a quite limited range.

The two scarers have been installed in my garden for a week and covered the usual areas affected. The daily poop attack by a fox and a cat immediately stopped. However, after six days the cat has pooped out of range of the scarers (I have a large garden with many obstructions). The range of the scarers is 7m and they have an 80 degree spread so bear that in mind. That is why i awarded less than 5 stars. I'll need to develop a strategy of moving the scarers around and see what happens.

Still early days, but ....

they DO seem to work! We've had two in the garden for two days and so far all we've seen of our five neighbouring cats is three of them entering our garden, stopping dead in their tracks .. and then doing u-turns and leaving! No daily mess to clear up on the flower beds ... wonderful!
If there had been an on/off switch and better still, a battery cover that didn't need a tool kit each time the batteries are changed (which won't last long with no on/off switch to use when we're cutting the grass etc) we'd have given them 5-Stars.Read full review...

Effective and economical answer to garden cat and squirrel pests.

This worked first time against cats and squirrels that kept digging up my plants and flower bulbs planted in compost in containers. I read that certain frequencies are more effective depending upon the pest, but there was no leaflet giving hints on this with the item which was a disappointment. The cost of these two was the lowest I could find on the internet, and reviews of the device rated it the best. Cat Repeller Scarer

I have only purchased this product two weeks ago and up to now its
seems to be working,but i must add after seeing one cat jump two feet
in the air and quickly scarper another cat brazenly sat in front of the
repeller and just strolled away and just stared at me through the window.l must add i have not given up on this product because there
has not been any mess in the garden for which i am very pleased about.
