a bit noisy

I bought this cat flap and whist the male persevered to get through the flap the female, who is a bit nervous won't go through it. The click as the mechanism unlocks the door is quite loud. it was very easy to program and is a smart and well made product.Read full review...

Noisy & draughty

Although its advertised as having a draught excluder on the flap, it's a waste of time. My old manual one is less draughty. With this the draught comes in all around the door top& bottom. Also around the locking mechanism.
It is also very loud when it clicks to release & lock. The cat only has to go near it for it to click. So if you have one that likes to sit near it, it will continually click.
My 1 cat was absolutely terrified if the click & I was having to go out & retrieve her at night. Once she had approached it once & it clicked that was it. Tried it as a manual & even taped open & she wouldn't put her head into the tunnel.

I should say that the outside view of this flap is not shown anywhere & that is because it's very ugly for one & the cat also has to.put its head into the tunnel for it to actually unlock which is very different from Petsafe's manual cat flaps.
Gave up after 3 months & put my old one back in. Cat is now happily using it again & its less draughty.

If you have a skittish at be warned that they might not take to it at all. 1 of mine was perfectly fine the other was too frightened by the 1st click to ever try again.

Use it as a manual one to start with to minimise the click scaring the cat. I would also tape it open to ease the transition.

Excellent quality, easy to set up, and use.

We have always had "Staywell" cat flaps, and have found them to be good value and great quality.
This microchip "Staywell" cat flap is no different, except that is recognises the cats microchip, and although one of our cats is a bit unsure of it, the other one is in and out as per normal.
We purchased this cat flap because we kept getting next doors cat coming in, who would not only at our cat's food, but unfortunately spray as well.
Since fitting this new cat flap, which was so easy to fit, and set up, no other cats than our own, bliss!

Was happy at first

Was pleasantly surprised with how easy it picked up my cats microchips.. and has worked wonders untill 4 months down the line it’s now decided to stop working. Clicks to let the cats come in but actually doesn’t unlock so I’ve not noticed my cats have been locked out for hours. Read full review...

Good solution to manage cats- easy to set up and use.

This is the second one I have bought from the same supplier. Works very well if batteries are changed every six months.

Great way to keep strays out

Me & my cat love this. Only downside is the loud click when the opening is activated, this scared him off to begin with and a lot of encouragement, both verbally and physically, we're required in the beginning. Also, smaller than my last cat flap so had to be inventive to hide that!Read full review...

Easy to install and program

It's easy to install and a doddle to program there are two negatives first it's quite noisy and the second issue is that the draft excluding brush around the flap cant seal as its to short so you end up with a cold draft coming through the doorRead full review...

Replaced a disc version

Replaced a disc version flap that was over complicated and cat kept losing collar. Fitted quickly into existing hole and really quick set-up. The manual override is just simple mechanics and saves a lot of button presses compared with previous. Stops neighbouring cat from stealing food.Read full review...
