Swallows and Amazons

Peter Duck is the third book in the series and is just as much a page turner as the first two books, Swallows and Amazons, and Swallowdale. Although this series of books is identified as 'children's books' the standard of writing is so good that I would say they are books about children and equally enjoyable to readers of an older generation. Although Peter Duck is a complete story in itself, in order to appreciate all the references it is advisable to start at the beginning with Swallows and Amazons.
