Just the job!
I bought these to replace a popped sidelight on Volvo S60 2005. As others have mentioned, the bulbs provide white light, not blue as their colour. Much better than the yellow light the old ones produced. Quite bright for only a 5w bulb. They are made of blue glass, not just coated blue. Intense white xenon 501??
Compared to a standard 501 bulb these bulbs are slightly whiter in colour and a little brighter but nothing compared to 501 LEDs If you want intense white diamond light then dont waste your time with these. Get LED bulbs, far superior and much cheaper. Read full review...

Not very much difference
These bulbs are not very different from the standard halogen ones. It gives a little white effect, so if want pure white light then go for the leds. Not bad for the price.

Pretty much the first thing I do when I get a new car is change the sidelight bulbs from the yellowy OE items to a set of these.
Yes they might only be a tad brighter than OE (not an issue as they are not used like headlights, only for visibility to other road users) but they provide a nicer white light and therefore provide a nicer look to your lighting overall.
I prefer these to LED bulbs too. Yes, they are not as bright as LEDs but you don’t have all the messing around with resistors and CAN-bus etc, plus I’ve found that equivalent priced LED bulbs do not last. I’ve never had to replace a set of Philips Whitevisions.
Overall, a quality item with a nicer look, no faff, longevity, and all for under a fiver.

After replacing these bulbs i had the disappointment to see they produce a yellow light as normal bulbs.
