Fun to play; and a real piece of history

A nice cross-section of the history of pinball tables from Gottlieb's designers. Graphics, sound and action all feel very authentic. Ambient sounds (during the game you can occasionally hear the attract sounds of other tables and games in the 'arcade') make a nice touch.

Controls are easy to get used to: L & R for the flippers, naturally; the C stick to pull back the plunger (light touch or all the way back, you decide) and control stick to bump (and yes, to Tilt if you over do it... easy to do, since normal nudging doesn't seem to have a lot of affect.)

Camera controls are simple but effective. Cycle through a number of possible angles: overhead, player's POV, close-up to follow the ball, etc. Additionally the B button toggles the score display (and this is my biggest gripe of the game: I'd prefer it off and keep the screen view unobstructed, but when the game ends the screen freezes on 'Game Over' till you hit 'A'. If the score is 'off' you can't get it back to see your final score.)

Each table has a 'Goal' (i.e., collect the maximum bonus value on 'Genie'); achieving the goals unlocks an extra table, a flipperless game from 1932!

The variety of tables is nice... from a simple but fun 50's table to more modern layouts with fancier gimmicks (like 'Black Hole', with it's reversed table-under-the-table) there's enough to keep pinball fans happy for a while (there are also some fun hidden extras in the 'arcade' as well... might be worth your while to search the 'net for 'cheat' unlock passwords...)

Each table has instructions to guide you to racking up the biggest points; and a little historical data that about the table and pinball in general.

Other than the aforementioned score display problem; this is a great little game!

Disappointed.......

I love Pinball... After playing Pinball Hall of Fame The Williams Collection Wii Game,I decided to purchase this one for more games.Glad I didn't pay Top Dollar and it was reasonable, under $15.00 plus tax, ship&ins.
The Williams Collection outranks this by far...
A couple of games are ok but the scores are distracting, right in front,
the games are too close and like a glare, shadow.
We also had an extension cord for a GameCube Controller since this game can be played on the Wii but with GameCube Controllers but cords aren't long so you are ontop of Tv unless you get extension cables that are hard to find.
We found 1 at a local GameStop after calling quite a few.
Thanks...:)

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Colletion (GameCube)

I have always been fond of pinball machines and this game brings them to life in your own living room. A mixture of old school electrical mechanical and solid state machines. Fun for the whole family. will keep you entertained and challanged for quite some time. This game is fun for the kids and adults alike and best of all, just like the real thing, pinball machines are unpredictable. Unlike todays video games where the kids perfect a sequence of paterns or moves and defeat the game only to move on to another, the play of these pinballs in this collection will give you different outcomes each time you play. This game becomes easier once you find a view that agrees with you. As you improve your pinball skills and achieve higher scores you will unlock other features of he game. In a nut shell this game is simple to play and fun for the whole family.Read full review...

Fun But Gets OLD Very Quickly

Pro's: It fun to be able to play Pinball on the GameCube. Good play control, good screen shots, easy to use buttons. Great for younger kids to learn on.

Con's: The tables are Old, in game music & sound is annoying. Would be better if they used modern pinball tables.

Fun game. Price is right. You will have fun for about 1 to 2 hours playing the 8 pinball machines. You may play longer if you have more players.

HONEST REVIEW - GREAT GAME - ONE "GLITCH" FOUND !

Added note:
When playing the card game, PLAYBOY, the Blackjack game does not give very good odds to win. The "Poker" game with 10 balls each turn, has great odds and you seldom lose. I found out that once your Bank Roll reaches TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS, the game automatically kicks your Bank Roll back to $1.00
with a "wagger" of only 50 cents. When you first start the game, your Bank Roll is $10 and quickly raises. When you turn the game off, your WAGER goes back to 50 cents. You can save your Bank Roll in your Memory Card (make sure to save at intervals). The game itself has "ONE GLITCH" in it. I tried the game on two different players and the glitch happened on both players. Here is the GLITCH: When playing The card game PLAYBOY, sometimes, without notice, the game WILL FREEZE UP, and the only way to UNFREEZE it is to turn the game off and start over.....Your wager then goes back to 50 cents and your Bank Roll goes back to the LAST AMOUNT THAT YOU SAVED ON THE MEMORY CARD. One other DRAW BACK on the card game is: The wager amount only moves at 5 cents per click and it takes forever to raise your wager to a good bet. I once put game on the game and let the wager run upward, continuously, for over 5 hours and my wager reached around $60,000, the after a couple of turns, the game FROZE, and I had to start all over......Even with all this, this little card game is a lot of fun to play. NOTE: ALL OF THE PIN BALL GAMES WORK GREAT, with tons of sounds and noises, and gadgets, and colors and numbers, etc, etc.
All in All, I highly recommend this game. It is a blast ! Easy and Fun.
I like it. My grand kids love it and the wife likes to watch us all play.
Can't go wrong here. Enjoy. Have a BLESSED DAY !!! Craig in TN.

Pinball Hall of Fame: Gottlieb Colletion Wii Gamecube

Our favorite game for Wii is the Williams Pinball (game is made for Wii).
The Gottlieb Pinball is still only available for GameCube in the US, so bought GC controllers and the Gottlieb Collection and figured it would be great.
No problem getting the wireless controllers or game to work in the Wii.
The problem is with the game itself. The graphics overall are not up to par with the Williams collection & the "realistic glass glare" is so strong that it often makes it too difficult to even see the ball & play some of the games. We are using it on a 42" TV. so don't know if would be any better on a bigger or smaller set.
Bottom line - If you don't have the Williams Pinball Collection for Wii, I would highly recommend it. But I'd say "pass" on the Gamecube Gottlieb for your Wii.

A great pinball game for the gamecube!

Pinball Hall of Fame:The Gottlieb Collection looks and plays like a real pinball machine. The graphics were stunning, and it had a good choice of games from the 50's,60's,70's,80's and 90's. I only wish that the other pinball machine companies such as Bally's, or Data East could port thier titles to the gamecube. all in all it was a great game!Read full review...

Pinball Hall of Fame: Gottileb Collection (GameCube)

I like this game because I like to play pinball. If you are a fan of pinball it is worth checking out. There is a good selection of pinball machines on this game, my favorite being Blackhole. The cameras are a like hard to get use to but once you get the hang of them it is a lot of fun.Read full review...

One great game for pinball fans alike

Great game for the pinball fan. You have games to play fron the 50's through the 90's.
The game play is great almost like going to the arcade and playing a real game.
there are unlockables and a unlockable table but you have to complete certain goals to unlock like in in any video game.
The controls are easy on this game and it is family friendly.

A highly recommended game.
