The day i recieved the item, i was woken that night by my cat chasing a big black spider round my bed. Terrified, i used the catcher and spider was moved, unharmed outside. Fab item for me as im terrifed of spider's. Would be even better if the grabber end was on a pivot so could be moved into position to grab from an awkward angle. It is very easy to use. Exactly as described and you even get a plastic spider to practice with. Would definitely recommend this as a humane way of putting a spider outside.

Good little tool

One thing though! You have to get used to how wide open you make the catcher, as when we went to catch a spider we opened it too wide and the spider just ran away (several times) We practised until we got it open it at the correct size to catch the beastie - outside it went.

Really effective on spiders.

I've used it a lot and it works really well on spiders and any other fairly slow moving critters! Not so much with flies...
I was a little dubious at first, thinking it may harm the insects, but no, they scamper off undamaged.

i used to try to scoop spiders up in a measuring jug and get them outside but too often they escaped. this is a must have for arachnaphopes who don't want to kill them, just get them out.
